Bethany elbows at her, hard. Lucy dodges but staggers. Bethany squints.<\/p>\n
\u201cThat\u2019s right,\u201d she says, recognizing the girl under her hat. \u201cYou\u2019re on the prophesy track, aren\u2019t you?\u201d<\/p>\n
Lucy snorts. She tosses her head. \u201cI,\u201d she says, \u201cam the evil prophet of \u2014\u201d<\/i><\/p>\n
She doesn\u2019t get to finish. Bethany moves in such a fashion that if Lucy finishes that sentence, she will fall and break her neck.<\/p>\n
Lucy snarls. She opens her mouth. She tries to start again.<\/p>\n
She will introduce herself. Then she will speak an evil prophecy. Then there will be only blood and death for Bethany, as she will have foretold \u2014<\/p>\n
Bethany is looking at her. Bethany is intending<\/i> at her.<\/p>\n
Lucy howls.<\/p>\n
She gulps back the evil prophecy. It roils in her wolf-gut. That path leads to disaster. What about . . .<\/p>\n
Bethany moves, just a little.<\/p>\n
